Product Description

PARAISO is the final film in the Cuban Trilogy (along with EL SUPER and BITTER SUGAR) of writer-director León Ichaso. A 'balsero' (rafter) flees from Cuban dreams gone wrong and lands in a Miami of no return, where desperation to change his life leads this 'new man' to commit despicable acts. A controversial and subversive taste of an imagined freedom, PARAISO explores generational and class divides within the Cuban exile community seldom addressed in cinema. This movie without a country part thriller, part drama, part existential romance explodes with heart, color and music.
U.S.A.. 2009. 100 min. Color/B&W. Aspect ratio: 1.78:1. In Spanish with optional English subtitles.
