Product Description

From executive producer Ridley Scott, Mercy Street follows the doctors, nurses, and soldiers, as well as free, enslaved, and contraband African Americans and other residents of the war-torn Virginia city, as they navigate the new world emerging from the most cataclysmic event in our country's history. This highly acclaimed series is set in Alexandria, Virginia, and the year is 1862. Mary Phinney, a New England abolitionist and Emma Green, a Confederate belle, collide at Mansion House, the Green family's hotel that has been transformed into a Union Army hospital. Allegiances blur and loyalties shift as the war pushes the drama beyond the hospital. You will follow the growing chaos at Alexandria's Mansion House, the precarious position of the Green family and the changing situation of the burgeoning black population. Mercy Street goes beyond the battlefield and into the lives of all manner of war-torn Americans as they face the unprecedented challenges of the Civil War home front. Includes approximately 30 minutes of special features. These programs feature subtitles in English (SDH).
